KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – With three individuals among the top 15, Campbell University won team honors after Tuesday's final round of the Kiawah Island Classic.
Lisbeth Brooks tied for sixth (73-77-73—223), Tahnia Ravnjak tied for eighth (75-75-74—224) and Brooke Bellomy was 13th (77-68-81—226) as Campbell claimed its fourth win of the 2012-13 season.
Teresa Urquizu tied for 27th (76-79-74—229) and Kaylin Yost was 85th (78-84-78—240) for Campbell, which earned victories last fall at the Golfweek Program Challenge, Fighting Camel Classic and Palmetto Intercollegiate.
Campbell (301-299-299—899) was 11 over as a team on Tuesday to finish three strokes ahead of host College of Charleston (292-304-306—902) on the par-72, 6001-yard Cougar Point layout. Troy (302-308-296—906) was third and Richmond (306-299-309—914) in the 32-school event.
Brooks earned her third top 10 finish of the season by recording 2 birdies and 15 pars on Tuesday. Ravnjak notched her second top-10, while Bellomy (who equaled her collegiate low round of 68 on Monday) placed among the top 15 individuals for the fifth time in seven events.
The title was the 68th of head coach John Crooks' tenure in charge of the Campbell women's program. He stands 4th all-time (2nd among active coaches) in NCAA Division I women's golf tournament coaching victories.
"This was not a classic win where everyone played well," said Crooks. "This was a case of hanging around and then finishing like champions. When it came time to hit the winning shot, each player was impressive."
Campbell continues its spring season Friday through Sunday at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational at Daytona Beach.
