GREENSBORO, N.C. – Campbell's men's and women's track and field teams set three school records and six personal bests at the two-day Aggie Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T.
The women's 4x100 meter relay team, featuring Asia Olds, Lynette Akai, Jacquelyn Reid, and Brianna Kincade, came in third with a school record time of 47.10. That beats the time of 47.52 that was set in 2005 by Amal Taissir, Wafaa Taissir, Danielle Warmack, and J. Clark.
Akai, a sophomore from Newburgh, Ind., took third in the women's 400 meter dash with a school record time of 54.84. She beat the time of 55.57 that was set in 2005 by Karlyn Duncan.
Junior Mariah Collins (Kathleen, Ga.) rounded out the new school records as she took 10th in the women's 100 meter hurdles with a school record time of 14.23. She beat he own record time of 14.53 that was set in 2012.
Michael Bedell, a sophomore from Montrose, Pa., finished sixth in the men's 800 meter run with a personal record time of 1:53.72.
Junior Marcus Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) took eighth in the men's 100 meter dash with a time of 21.51.
Tashinga Chitambira, a freshman from Harare, Zimbabwe, set a personal record in th emen's 100 meter dash with a time of 10.88, finishing 26th.
Freshman Jacquelyn Reid (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished 26th in the women's 100 meter dash with a personal record time of 12.45.
Nate Kennedy, a sophomore from Huntley, Ill., finished seventh in the men's 400 meter hurdles with a personal record time of 57.10.
Following the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational, the Camels will travel to Lynchburg, Va. for the Big South Outdoor Track
