BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell began its fall schedule on Saturday with freshmen Nell Gaigher and Claudia Ortiz, junior Tamara Stanic, sophomores Ewa Telenga and Kirsten Renz notching victories in their respective singles flights at the Davidson Invitational. The pair of senior Karolina Chernaya and Gaigher tied for the Flight 1 doubles title.

Gaigher opened her Camel career by going 3-0 in the two-day event, including a pair of super tiebreaker wins against Davidson's Laina Cummer, 13-11, and Gardner-Webb's Jenny Lunde, 10-7 to clinch Flight 2.

A trio of straight-set triumphs were notched by Stanic to secure the Flight 3 championship. She knocked off Nisha Crouser (Davidson), Michelle Castro (East Carolina) and Ronia Hutterli (Gardner-Webb).

Earning the Flight 5 victory was Telenga with wins against Jenna Brunner (Davidson), Samantha Light (East Carolina) and Rokia Sacko (Gardner-Webb).

Newcomer Claudia Ortiz tallied three victories to notch the Flight 6 title. Two-set victories were registered over Courtney McCray (Davidson), Dana Gray (East Carolina) and Catherine White (Gardner-Webb).

Topping Flight 7/8 was Renz with a super tiebreaker over Maria Storozheva (East Carolina) and a 7-5, 6-2 win over Scarlett Walston (East Carolina).

Chernaya registered two wins in Flight 1 singles, while sophomore Ana Maria Ortiz notched a single victory in Flight 2.

All three doubles tandems in Flight 1 went 2-1 with the duo of Chernaya/Gaigher defeating Doost/Hutteri (Gardner-Webb) and Moiz/Crummer (Davidson).

Sernior Natasha Afridi and A. Ortiz posted a 2-1 mark in the Flight 3 doubles.
