RADFORD, Va. – RaeChaun Edwards netted a team-leading 16 points and Roslyn Presley earned her third career double-double in Campbell's 75-61 win over Radford at the Dedmon Center Saturday night.
CU improved to 12-8 overall and 7-4 in the conference, while Radford fell to 3-17 on the season and 1-10 in league action.
Presley earned her second double-double of the season using 14 points, 10 of which came in the first half, and 12 rebounds, eight offensive.
Edwards' 16 points included 13 in a 20-9 CU run over 10 minutes spanning halftime. It was the third time this season she has been the team's leading scorer.
Alongside Presley and Edwards in double-digit scoring was Kiera Gaines, who finished with 15 and added eight boards. The remaining Campbell points were distributed between seven other Lady Camels.
Radford's Ayana Avery led all scorers with 21 points on 7-for-20 three-point attempts.
The Lady Camels led by as many as 10 in the first half, but the Highlanders tied the game at 20 on a Kermisha Clark three with 3:45 to go before the break.
Edwards answered with her own three-pointer 13 seconds later to give CU the lead, which it wouldn't lose for the remainder of the game. Less than a minute later, she scored another trey, to keep the momentum with the Lady Camels through halftime.
At the half, Presley led the Lady Camels with 10 points, while D Janelle Brown, Gaines, and Edwards all had six points off two three-pointers apiece.
The intermission didn't stall Edwards, as she opened the second half with another three, followed by a layup.
The Lady Camels used another run, this time a seven-minute 14-5 drive, to extend their lead to 19, the largest of the contest.
During that run, Brown drained her third three-pointer, and Presley tacked on four points to extend the CU lead.
Radford attempted to mount a comeback late in the half, and closed the Lady Camel lead to 10 after a Breshara Gordon three with 37 seconds to go, but that was as small as the CU lead became.
Casey Elliot nailed two free throws and Courtney Best added a layup in the final 37 seconds to secure the CU win.
Next week, the Lady Camels return home for two-straight games in Gore Arena. Campbell hosts Longwood Thursday at 7 p.m., looking to go 2-0 against the Lancers this season.
Saturday, Liberty visits for a 2 p.m. tip, as CU tries to avenge a 75-52 loss to the Flames in December. Saturday's tilt will also be the annual "Camels for a Cure" event.
