GREENSBORO, N.C. – Lily Tang and Geena Squartino both recorded top-five finishes Saturday to lead Campbell to a fifth place showing at the All-North Carolina Invitational at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
North Carolina State took the women's side with 1,580 points, followed by East Carolina at 1,413, Davidson at 1,126 and Gardner-Webb at 883 in the 13 team event.
Tang recorded a fourth place showing in the 100 backstroke, posting a time of 58.00. The junior also placed sixth in the 200 back with a 2:05.96 mark.
In the 1,650 free, Squartino, a freshman from Cooper City, Fla., took fifth, coming in with a 17:49.88. Emily Bennett followed in ninth place with a time of 18:24.01.
Sarah Jabusch finished ninth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.19, while Campbell freshmen Caroline Clark and Michelle Case took 11th and 12th in the 100 yard butterfly, posting times of 58.94 and 59.06.
Case then tallied a 2:06.86 in the 200 fly to take eighth. Carly Bowles and Meredith Cooper took 12th and 13th in the 200 yard breaststroke, posting times of 2:28.84 and 2:28.88.
The Camels closed out the meet in the 400 free relay, finishing ninth in the race with a time of 3:36.76.
The Camels will head to Nashville, Tenn. next Friday, Oct. 10, taking on Vanderbilt and San Diego State. Campbell will then travel to UNC Asheville on Saturday, Oct. 11. CU returns home Oct. 18, hosting North Carolina A&T.
