RALEIGH, N.C. – Jeremy Nevius tied for 11th place individually and Campbell finished 12th on the team leaderboard after Tuesday's final round of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
A red-shirt freshman from Metuchen, N.J., Nevius played his final nine holes 4-under-par to conclude the 54-hole event at 2-over 215 (71-72-72) on the par-71, 7307-yard layout. Nevius tied for second in the 93-player field in par-5 scoring (-4), while making nine birdies and 34 pars.
David Cooke of NC State (71-70-67—208) and Adrian Meronk of East Tennessee State (70-68-70—208) shared individual honors at 5-under par. Christopher Hickman of ETSU (74-68-67—209) and East Carolina's Wesley Conover (69-71-69—209) finished one stroke back.
Host NC State 283-283-280—846 claimed team honors at 6-under par, nine strokes in front of runner-up ETSU (290-279-286—855). Campbell finished 12th (297-296-297—890), four shots better than Boston College (894).
Campbell sophomore Craig Hornberger made 36 pars over the two-day event and tied for 36th place (76-74-73—223) at 10-over-par. Sophomore Gaston Bertinotti (80-72-77—229) and freshman Carlos Leandro (76-78-75—229) tied for 61st while junior Mikko Lehtovuori tied for 81st (74-81-80—235).
The Camels conclude their fall schedule Oct. 19-21 in the Old Dominion OBX Collegiate at Powells Point, N.C.
