BUIES CREEK, N.C. – No. 8 Campbell is set to take on top-ranked Radford at 12 p.m. Thursday in the opening game of the Big South Championship at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C.

Campbell enters the tournament with a 14-17 overall record, going 5-9 in Big South play. Radford is 22-7 this season with a 12-2 conference record.
Junior Mary Crema, a 2014 Big South first-team all-conference selection, paces the league with 5.18 digs per set, anchoring the Camel defense that leads the conference with 17.44 digs per set. Offensively, redshirt junior Alexis Hein posts 2.42 kills per set, while freshman Summer Schuitema sets up the offense on 7.31 assists per set.
Radford, the defending tournament champion, is led by Rachel Wiechecki, who averages the most kills (3.63/set) and digs (3.97/set) for the Highlanders. Jena Braden guides the Highlanders with 10.57 assists per set.
As a team, Campbell averages 12.16 digs per set on 11.03 assists to Radford's 12.99 kills per set on 12.05 assists. In addition to its 17.44 digs per set, CU registers 1.76 blocks per set, while Radford generates15.93 digs and 1.83 blocks per set.
The winner will take on the winner of Match 2, either No. 4 Winthrop or No. 5 Presbyterian, Friday at 4:30 p.m.
