Harty, Linxwiler, and Stocking sign with Campbell Volleyball

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Head coach Greg Goral announced the signing of Rachel Harty, Madison Linxwiler, and Jessica Stocking, who will join the Camels next year.

The three newcomers will help fill the void by this year's outgoing seniors, Jessica Groen, Alexis Hein, and Lorin Thomas.

"I am really excited about the three scholarship players we are adding for 2015," Goral said.  "They come from successful national level club programs and should be able to transition well to college game. I am looking forward to adding them into the mix of a hard working determined squad next fall."

Rachel Harty

Harty, from Orange City, Fla., is a 5-11 four-year letterwinner at University High School, where she has played setter and right-side hitter for coach Rick Martines. A team captain for the past three years, she was named All-Area as a junior and sophomore and was on Prep Volleyball's Soph 79 and Frosh 59 lists. Harty was a part of Titan teams that were district champions in 2012 and 2014, and that made it to the state final four after winning a regional championship in 2014. Harty holds the ace record, registering 75 as a freshman. She is a member of the National Honor Society, is an AP Scholar, and has been on the honor roll all four years of high school. As a junior, she was honored with the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence, and as a senior she was given the Superintendent's Diploma of Distinction. She has played her club volleyball with Orlando Volleyball Club since 2009. Harty also lettered in track and field as a freshman at University. She will join her sister, Ali, who is a freshman for the Camels this season. She is the daughter of Thad and Melissa Harty and has another sister, Olivia. She intends to major in trust and wealth management at Campbell.

Goral on Harty: "Rachel is a tremendous competitor, great athlete, very disciplined and has an extremely high work rate. She never gives up and just finds ways to win. She also is a great communicator and provider for her teammates and friends. Rachel is really good at keeping a broad perspective on life and volleyball and is always working to achieve her goals and better herself."

Madison Linxwiler

Linxwiler, from San Diego, Calif., has earned three letters at Cathedral Catholic High School as a 5-11 middle blocker under head coach Kelly Drobeck. As a sophomore, she helped lead her team to a 34-5 record and a state championship, winning the Western League Championship. In 2012 she was named most improved for the Dons and in 2013 won the coach's award. A senior captain, she is a three-time CCHS Scholar-Athlete and has won the Union Tribune All-Academic Award the past three years. As a junior and senior, she was placed on the Western League Honorable Mention list. In her senior season, she registered 151 kills, 33 digs, nine assists, and 16 aces, and in three years has totaled 373 kills, 115 blocks, 15 assists, and 23 aces. She plays club volleyball with 17 Mizuno, taking fifth place in the open division at junior nationals, third place at the Las Vegas Showcase, and has won the Southern California qualifier and Showme Qualifier. In 2013 with 16 Epic, she was a part of a team that placed fifth at the national division junior nationals. At CCHS, she is a member of the National Honor Society and the California Scholarship Federation, and has been on the honor roll all four years. She is the daughter of Eric and Christine Linxwiler and has a sibling, Carson. Her father played football at Cal Poly SLO. She is undecided on a major at CU, but is interested in business, sports management, and psychology.

Goral on Linxwiler: "Madison is a fast and physical presence in the middle. She is very good both offensively and defensively at the net, a very supportive teammate, and has a high volleyball IQ. She is a very determined and competitive individual who works extremely hard, has a lot of fun and loves getting after it."

Jessica Stocking

Stocking, from Laguna Hills, Calif., has lettered four years at Laguna Hills High School under coach Scott Bruce. A 6-1 outside and right-side hitter, Stocking was named all-league as a sophomore and as a captain her senior year, was named the Hawks' most valuable player. She also lettered in track and field, placing first in the high jump in the Seaview League finals. Stocking has been honored as a Scholar Athlete for the past three years at Laguna Hills. This season, she plays club volleyball with T-Street, and played for Saddleback Valley Volleyball Club for the previous two years, as well as from 2009-10. From 2010 to 2012, Stocking was a part of TCA. She is the daughter of Roy and Cindi Stocking, and has a sister, Jennifer, who played volleyball at Merrimack College.

Goral on Stocking: "Jessica is a dynamic athlete with a complete six-rotation skill set. She is effective on both pins in the front row, and can pass and defend with the best of them. Jessica has been the go-to player for her club team and is used to having to carry the load offensively. She also plays with passion and enjoys the game. She will bring her smile with her every day to practice and have her game face for the weekends."
