ATLANTA, GA. – Campbell set season bests in four events Thursday, highlighting day one action at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
Campbell stands 13th in the 14 team invitational after day one with 42 points, just ahead of Auburn at 40. Florida leads the field with 408 points, followed by Arkansas (253), Florida State (237) and Florida Gulf Coast (189).
The Gators also lead the men's competition with 514 points.
The Camels led off with a 1:35.80 in the 200 freestyle relay, clipping the team's season-best time of 1:38.13, set at the All-North Carolina Invitational in October, taking 11th in the race.
Freshman Geena Sqaurtino then issued a season-best in the 500 free with a 5:03.14, earning a 25th place finish. Lily Tang, a junior, followed with a 2:05.64 in the 200 IM for another season-low mark, placing 22nd.
Campbell finished out day one competition with a 3:52.60 mark in the 400 medley relay for the team's fourth season-best time of the day.
The Georgia Tech Invitational continues Friday at 10 a.m. with preliminary heats. Finals competition will start at 6 p.m. with Saturday, the event's final day, following the same schedule.
After the Georgia Tech Invitational, the Camels will resume action on January 3 at Florida Gulf Coast, taking on Liberty, Central Connecticut State and the host Eagles.
