ATLANTA, GA. – Carly Bowles and Lily Tang neared school record times to highlight Campbell's Friday at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
The Camels retained 13th place in the meet, which grew to 16 teams on Saturday. CU has 90 points heading into the final of three days at Georgia Tech, staying in front of Auburn (51), Clemson (23) and Utah (16). The Camels trail South Carolina at 119 points.
Florida leads the group with 878 points.
Campbell opened Friday's finals round with a season-best in the 200 medley relay with a 1:47.01, finishing 12th. Sarah Jabusch then tallied a 4:31.24 mark in the 400 IM, finishing 25th with the season-low time.
Carly Bowles lowered her season-best my more than four seconds, turning in a 1:04.64 (24th), just shy of her own school record (1:04.12), set last season at the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships.
Lily Tang also neared a school record mark Friday, posting a 56.62 in the 100 back finals to take 22nd place.
The Camels also picked up a 10th place finish in their first running of the 800 freestyle relay this season, registering a time of 7:39.77.
The Georgia Tech Invitational continues Saturday, the meet's final day, at 10 a.m. with preliminary heats. Finals competition will start at 6 p.m.

After the Georgia Tech Invitational, the Camels will resume action on January 3 at Florida Gulf Coast, taking on Liberty, Central Connecticut State and the host Eagles.
