Coffer named Big South Player of the Week by league and College Sports Madness

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Sophomore Amanda Coffer has been named Big South Player of the Week by the conference office and College Sports Madness.

Coffer registered a career-high 30 points at UNCW Wednesday, leading CU on 11-for-17 shooting, netting 3-of-7 threes and 5-of-6 free throws. The Lady Camels' first 11 points were netted by Coffer on a three and four layups spanning five minutes, leading Campbell to an 11-10 lead at the first media timeout. She was perfect from the floor, 7-for-7 FG and 2-for-2 from beyond the arc until her only miss of the half at the 5:56 mark.

For the second straight game, Coffer led the Lady Camels in scoring, netting 21 points as Campbell defeated Mount St. Mary's, 60-42, Friday. Coffer finished shooting 9-for-13, going 1-for-2 from beyond the arc and 2-for-2 from the stripe, adding a game-high seven rebounds, three blocks, and three steals.

Against N.C. Central, she notched 16 points, then matching her career high, and posted five rebounds, an assist, two steals, and a game-high four blocks, one shy of her career record. She is second in the league in scoring at 19.3 PPG and sixth shooting 58.2 pct. FG.

Coffer and the Lady Camels take on Western Carolina tonight at 7 p.m. in Cullowhee, N.C.
