Lady Camels travel to Hatter Classic this weekend; Friday's game to air on ESPN3

BUIES CREEK, N.C – Campbell travels to DeLand, Fla., this weekend for the Hatter Classic, taking on Stetson at 1 p.m. Friday and Bethune-Cookman at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Friday's game will be aired on ESPN3; live stats and audio for both games will be available on GoCamels.com.

For the first time this season, Campbell fell at home as Elon came away with a 77-51 win inside Gore Arena Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Kiera Gaines led the Lady Camels (5-4, 1-1 BSC) with 14 points, going 5-for-9 from the field and 4-for-7 from the free throw line. She posted a team-high six rebounds with five assists and six steals.

The Lady Camels look to improve their road record of 1-3 after winning their first game away from Buies Creek on Saturday at Charleston Southern.

  • Wednesday's game featured a matchup between the Coffer sisters, Campbell sophomore Amanda and Elon senior Sam. Amanda finished with 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting and added three rebounds, two steals, an assist, and a block. Sam scored five points, shooting 2-for-6, with eight rebounds, four assists, and a block.
  • The Lady Camels posted 23 steals at Charleston Southern (12/13), the most steals for CU since March 8, 2004, when it recorded 21 against High Point.
  • The Lady Camels are averaging 66.9 points per game and have a +7.1 rebounding margin over their opponents.
  • Campbell earned its first road win Dec. 13 at Charleston Southern, 69-65, also its first Big South win of the season. The Lady Camels had previously fallen at UNCW (89-80), at Western Carolina (67-57), and at Winthrop (61-59).
  • At Winthrop on Dec. 2, a trio of Lady Camels notched double-doubles, the first time three CU players recorded the feat in the same game.  Amanda Coffer led CU with 19 points, tied for the game high, and added a career-high 11 rebounds in her first career double-double, while Kiera Gaines posted a game-high 14 rebounds with 15 points. Summer Leverette earned her first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
