Head coach David Johnson has announced that Josep Baro has returned to his alma mater to serve as graduate assistant with the men's and women's tennis teams.
A 2013 Campbell graduate, Baro won 57 singles and 70 doubles matches during his four-year career. The native of Barcelona, Spain was chosen as Big South player of the week during his senior year when he helped the Camels advance to the conference tournament semifinals for the fourth-straight season.
Off the court, Baro earned Big South Conference Presidential Honor Roll and Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic team recognition.
Before enrolling at Campbell in the fall of 2009, Baro was ranked among the top 350 juniors in his native Spain.
Since his graduation from Campbell in 2013, Baro served as a tennis pro at The Larchmont (N.Y.) Yacht Club before moving to SPORTIME in Mamaroneck N.Y., where he worked with the best juniors in the New York area in addition to coaching other players of all ages and levels. He also worked in the sales department and was a key staff member where he evaluated and worked on sales and management decisions for the company.
