BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell softball travels to Deland, Fla. to participate in the Hatter Invitational. The Camels open the tournament Friday against Bethune-Cookman at 1:30 p.m. followed by a game at 6:30 p.m. against Stetson. Saturday's slate for the Camels begins at 11 a.m. as they take on Elon, then close out the tournament by taking on Stetson at 4 p.m.

The Fighting Camels look to build on its previous win that came Sunday in an 11-2 win over Seton Hall. Strong pitching performances by Courtney Roberts and Morgan Eisenga helped CU collect its two wins in the Hampton Inn Invitational. Roberts threw a seven inning three hit shutout to earn the win on Friday against Valparaiso (3-0). Eisenga made two relief appearances pitching a total of 3.1 innings and earning a victory against the pirates of Seton Hall.
Bethune-Cookman is the Camels first opponent and opened the season at the USF Wilson DeMarini Tournament in Tampa, Fla. The Wildcats went 0-5 collectively playing against three nationally ranked teams USF (25/23), Michigan (5/4) and Florida (4/3). Senior Kelsey Rodney leads the Wildcats offensively hitting at a pace of .750 drawing four walks and two hit-by-pitches.
CU will take on Stetson twice during the invitational. The Hatters earned two wins against Michigan State (5-1) and Rhode Island (12-0). Stetson was led in their first two games by Demi Meza as she powered two homeruns and drove in three.
Elon comes into the tournament with a 3-0-1 record. The victories came against UNCW (8-3) and twice against Maryland Eastern Shore (9-0) (11-0). Right handed hitter Emily Cameron is leading the Phoenix with six hits, homering four times and driving in 10.
Campbell continues the tournament Saturday against Elon at 11 a.m. and Stetson at 6:30 p.m.
