BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Following his third top-10 finish of the year, Craig Hornberger of Campbell University has been named Choice Hotels Big South Conference men's golf freshman of the week.

A native of Lancaster, Pa., Hornberger finished in a sixth-place tie at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tuesday after shooting (77-74-71—222) on the par-72, 6913-yard layout.

Hornberger led the field in par-5 scoring (7-under) and made 10 birdies (tied for 7th) over 54 holes.  His showing marked the third top-10 showing in six collegiate tournaments.

The weekly honor was the second of the season for Hornberger, who also won the Big South award Sept. 27 after tying for second in his collegiate debut at the Colorado Mark Simpson Invitational.

Hornberger and the Camels return to action Mar. 3-4 in the Samford Intercollegiate at Hoover (Ala.) Country Club.
