CHATTANOOGA, TENN. – Campbell scores six runs in both games to defeat Tulsa (6-1) and Middle Tennessee (6-3) Friday in the Chattanooga Frost Classic. The victory against Middle Tenessee was Coach Peterson's 400th at Campbell.
Courtney Roberts took a no-hitter into the fourth inning, while homeruns by Olivia Scarborough and Milly Martinet led Campbell to a 6-1 victory in the first game of the Chattanooga Frost Classic.
The win goes to Courtney Roberts who pitched 4.1 innings allowing one run (one earned) on one hit, while walking five and striking out two. Olivia Scarborough in relief, pitched 2.2 innings allowing only one hit and striking out one. Robert's victory evens her record to 2-2 and puts CU's mark at 6-4 for the season.
Alli Berry took the loss for Toledo. She pitched six innings allowing six runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out two. The loss drops Toledo to an overall record of 1-5.
The fighting Camels were led at the plate by Stephanie Jones, Martinet and Kerstine Womack who each went two-for-three. Olivia Scarborough went one-for-three, her one hit was a three run homerun.
Toledo had two runners on in the top of the second, but was caught stealing to end the inning. Campbell began the bottom of the second with a pair of singles by Martinet and Courtney Klingler, before Scarborough hit a three run home run. Womack reached base on a bunt single and stole two bases to score. Stephanie Jones singled scoring Sheala Churchill to close out the five run second.
Campbell held Toledo scoreless in the top of third. Martinet homered for the Camels in the bottom half of the inning; the homerun was her third of the season.
Toledo loaded the bases with one out in the top of the fifth. Scarborough came into the game in relief of Roberts and induced two pop ups to get out of the inning. Toledo did score its lone run in the inning.
Game 2
Campbell exploded for four runs in the bottom of the third inning and closed out Friday afternoon action with a 6-3 victory over Middle Tennessee.
The victory is head coach Drew Peterson's 400th career victory at Campbell. Peterson is only 18 shy of 700 total career victories.

The victory for Campbell moves its record to 7-4, while the loss for Middle Tennessee totals 4-7 mark on the season.
The winning pitcher for CU was Katie Baker, who pitched 6.2 innings scattering six hits allowing three runs (three earned), while walking four and striking out seven. Morgan Eisenga pitched 1/3 of an inning earning the save for Campbell.
Shelby Stinnett took the loss for Middle Tennessee pitching three innings allowing five runs (five earned) on nine hits and did not strike out or walk a batter.
Middle Tennessee went scoreless in the top of the first. CU tallied a run in the bottom half of the inning on a Milly Martinet single scoring Ericka Nesbitt, who had singled earlier in the inning.
Campbell scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning. Stephanie Jones singled with one out, and then Nesbitt hit a triple to score Jones. Raven Lee drove in Nesbitt on a sacrifice fly. After a Martinet single, Courtney Klingler hit a two run homerun over the left field fence totaling four runs in the inning.
CU scored a run in the bottom of the sixth on a double by Brittany Bruce, which scored pinch runner Erica Johnson.
Middle Tennessee did hit a three-run homerun in the top of the seventh inning. Eisenga entered the game and recorded the final out to earn a save and secure the 6-3 victory for the Camels.
Campbell returns to action Saturday in the Chattanooga Frost Classic, first taking on Tennessee Tech at 11 a.m. followed by a match up against Austin Peay at 1:30 p.m.
