BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After leading Campbell to a win in its conference opener, Fernando Guillen has been named the Choice Hotels Big South men's tennis player of the week.

A senior from San Louis, Potosi, Mexico, Guillen rallied from a one-set deficit in the number-one singles match to defeat Gardner-Webb's Benjamin Kaszas on Saturday and to earn his third-consecutive win of the spring season.

Guillen also paired with Rik van Gerwin for a triumph at the number-two doubles slot in the Camels' 4-3 victory over the Bulldogs.  The award marked Guillen's first player of the week honor this season and the third of his career.

Guillen, Adrien Rossignon and Marthinus Visser all extended their singles winning streaks to 3 matches last Saturday.

Campbell hosts UNC Greensboro at 1 p.m. Wednesday before heading South for its Spring Break trip that starts Saturday against Mercer in Savannah, Ga.
