SAVANNAH, GA. – Tamara Stanic improved to 8-0 in singles play and Campbell defeated Mercer 6-1 Saturday.
After the Camels (5-4) won the doubles point, Stanic, Karolina Chernaya, Natasha Afridi, Amelie Reichart and Ewa Telenga all won in straight sets to secure the dual victory.
Stanic defeated Natalie Franklin 6-1, 6-1 to improve to 8-0 at the fourth singles position. Chernaya scored a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Danielle Jones at the top slot to move to 7-2 on the spring, while Afridi improved to 6-2 at number three with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph over Hayley Powell.
Mercer (4-6) won the third doubles match, while Lucie Payrat claimed a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the second singles position for the lone Bears point.
Campbell continues its Spring Break trip Tuesday with a 9:00 a.m. start at Bethune-Cookman.
