BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Karolina Chernaya remained unbeaten in Big South Conference singles play and Campbell defeated Coastal Carolina 4-3 Thursday for its seventh-straight dual match win.

Chernaya improved to 6-0 against league foes, 13-3 in duals and 20-6 overall after defeating Kourtney Kowal 6-2, 7-5 at the top singles position.

Ana Maria Ortiz and Amelie Reichart added straight-sets wins for Campbell (12-5, 5-1), which improved to 8-1 in the month of March.  Reichart, who was named Big South freshman of the week on Tuesday, ran her singles win streak to five contests.

Chernaya and Claudia Ortiz won at the top position, while Ana Maria Ortiz and Ewa Telenga won a tiebreaker at No.-3 to provide Campbell with the doubles point.

Ortiz and Telenga ran their doubles win streak to six matches and improved to 5-0 against Big South foes.  Chernaya and Claudia Ortiz won their third-straight doubles outing.

Libby Scott, Honami Yazawa and Amanda Malatek all won 3-set matches in singles for Coastal, which saw its five-match win streak halted.

Campbell travels to No.-62 Winthrop (10-3, 4-0) Saturday for a 2 p.m. start.
