WALLACE, N.C. – Gaston Bertinotti is tied for 12th place and Campbell is sixth on the team leaderboard after 36 holes Monday of the River Landing Intercollegiate men's golf tournament.
A freshman from Cordoba, Argentina, Bertinotti was one-under in Friday afternoon's round (76-71—147) and is three-over for the tournament heading into Saturday's final 18 holes. Bertinotti is tied for third in the 62-player field with 8 birdies over 36 holes and tied for fourth in par-5 scoring (-4).
Adam Ball of VCU (70-71—141) holds a one-stroke lead over Wesley Conover of East Carolina (69-73—142) and Taylor Dickson of Winthrop (72-70—142). Payne McLeod of UNC Wilmington (68-75—143) and Maryland's Sean Bodosh (70-73—143) are tied for fourth.
VCU (287-291—578) owns a four-stroke lead over ECU (293-289—582) entering the final round. Tulsa (299-290—589) is third, followed by Winthrop (289-304—593), Maryland (294-301—595) and Campbell (301-296—597). UNCW is in seventh place (298-301—599), ahead of Loyola-Maryland (300-301—601), Richmond (304-301—605) and George Mason (307-305—612) in the 10-school field.
Campbell's Grant Houser is tied for 23rd (75-75—150). The junior from Holly Springs, N.C., is tied for sixth place with 24 pars, while tying for 12th in par-4 scoring (+3). Sophomore Mikko Lehtovuori also had 24 pars and played the par-3 holes even (tied for 3rd) and sits in a 26th-place tie (77-74—151).
Senior Amanjyot Singh made 23 pars Friday and is tied for 29th (76-76—152), while freshman Craig Hornberger (74-79—153) is tied for 34th. Playing as an individual, sophomore Jeremy Milton is tied for 52nd place (78-79—157).
