Full 2014 Cross Country Schedule
BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell's cross country squad will compete in eight meets this fall, kicking off by hosting a dual meet against UNC Wilmington on Friday, Aug. 29, at 6:30 p.m.
The Camels will host a cross country meet for the first time since the Campbell Invitational on Sept. 3, 2011, an event that featured UNC Wilmington, Winthrop and Methodist in a head-to-head format.
Campbell will then travel to Boiling Springs, N.C., for their second meet of the season as the men and women compete at the Gardner-Webb Invitational at 9 a.m. on Sept. 13. That meet will familiarize the teams with the site of the Big South Championships, also set to be hosted by Gardner-Webb at 9 a.m. on Nov. 1.
The Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky., will be up next for the Camels on Oct. 4, followed two weeks later by a split weekend at the Blue Ridge Open in Boone, N.C., and the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., on Oct. 17 and 18, respectively.
The teams will wrap up the 2014 season at the NCAA Southeast Regional (Nov. 14 in Louisville, Ky.), and qualifying athletes will earn their way to the prestigious NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 22.
Campbell is coming off a pair of solid finishes at the Big South Championships in 2013, with the men taking third overall as the women secured a fifth-place finish. With four incoming freshmen on the men's side and six more for the women, the Camels will look to use that youth to match or better those performances in 2014.
