Football completes Tuesday practice, welcomes guest speaker Colonel Gregory Gadson

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell practiced in full pads for the first time Tuesday, and heard from special guest speaker Colonel Gregory Gadson.

Colonel Gadson is currently the Garrison Commander of the U.S. Army Fort Belvoir and is the director of the Army Wounded Warrior Program. He is also a bilateral above-the-knee amputee, occasional actor, and motivational speaker.

He served in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years as a field artillery officer and served on active duty for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Joint Forge, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Gadson also played football for West Point from 1985-88.

Campbell continues preseason camp tomorrow at 2:45 p.m. The first of three scrimmages will be held Thursday, August 7, at 6:30 p.m.

Campbell began its 2014 preseason training camp on July 31 with conditioning, the first of 22 total sessions.

Campbell will kick off the 2014 season Thursday night, August 28, at 7 p.m. against Charlotte.
