Campbell falls to Belmont in first match of VCU 4-1 Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. –Campbell men's team dropped its first match of the VCU 4-1 Invitational, falling 4-1 to Belmont Friday afternoon.

Seniors Steve Billington and Adrein Rossignon earned the lone point of the match Campbell, downing the Bruins' double tandem of Caio Niel and Geoff Tulloch 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.

The Camels dropped each of their four singles matches Friday. Senior Marthinus Visser split the first two sets with Mauricio Antun 6-4,4-6, but dropped the third 6-2. Sophomore Nicolas Rakitin fell to Marko Lovrinovic in straight sets 6-4, 6-2; freshman Jonathon O'Neal lost to Robin Demasse in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Billington also lost his singles match in straight sets to Cedric Dujacquier 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.
 
Campbell returns to action in the VCU 4-1 Invitational on Saturday as it takes the court against Georgetown at 11 a.m. and Norfolk St. at 4 p.m.
