WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Lynette Akai, Sabina Allen and Morgan Timiney logged top-five finishes for Campbell as the Camels completed the Hilton Garden Invitational on Saturday.
Allen finished third overall in the triple jump to give the Camels their best finish of the day, Timiney placed fourth overall in the men's mile run and Akai claimed fifth in the seeded 200m dash.
The Camels will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6 and 7, at the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.
Following is an event-by-event recap of Campbell's action from the final day of the Hilton Garden Invitational.
Men's 60m Dash (Semifinals)
Lennox Williams improved upon his preliminary time of 6.88, shaving off two-hundredths of a second to finish sixth overall with a time of 6.86. Tashinga Chitambira also competed, finishing 11th overall after crossing the line in 6.95.
Women's 200m Dash (Unseeded)
Jocelyn Culbreath was the lone competitor for Campbell, finishing in 26.45 to log a 28th-place finish.
Women's 200m Dash (Seeded)
Campbell grabbed a top-five finish as Lynette Akai stormed to a time of 26.04 to finish fifth overall.
Men's One Mile Run
Morgan Timiney led the way for the Camels, just missing a podium finish with a time of 4:13.11 to finish fourth overall. Eric Baldwin grabbed a 25th-place finish with a time of 4:23.13 and Tariq Fullerton placed 32nd overall after crossing the line in 4:24.85.
Women's 4x400m Relay
The team of Kelsey Rea, Kaelyn Yoder, Brianna Meyrick and Amina Alvarez Barkane won its heat and finished 22nd overall with a time of 4:11.75.
Men's Triple Jump
Lorne Jenkins was the lone competitor for the Camels, placing 10th overall after a jump of 44-4.75 (13.53m).
Women's Triple Jump
Sabina Allen grabbed the bronze in the event with a leap of 38-9 (11.81m), and Jaszlyn Jenkins joined her in the top 10, placing ninth overall after tallying a distance of 36-7 (11.15m).
Men's Shot Put
The duo of Ethan Mitchell (42-6/12.95m) and Sharaj Prince (39-5.25/12.02m) earned top-30 finishes, placing 19th and 29th, respectively.
