BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Bradley Farias scored three goals and assisted on another to lift Campbell to a 4-2 win over Gardner-Webb Saturday at the Eakes Athletic Complex.

Seth Jones scored once and set up Farias' first strike for the Camels (5-6, 1-3), who ended a three-match losing streak.  Gardner-Webb (3-10, 2-3) led just 22 seconds into the match on Craig Swaby's goal, but was outshot by the Camels 10-0 over the next 44:38 and trailed 2-1 at the break.

"It was critical for us to win at home," said Campbell head coach Dustin Fonder.  "We hadn't been able to win in the league until tonight, but getting that first one gets the monkey off your back and hopefully will be the start of a string."

After dropping a pair of one-goal decisions over the last three outings, Campbell was quickly behind Saturday.  The Bulldogs scored in the first minute when Ali Al-Gashamy drove a long diagonal ball to Craig Swaby behind the back four and the senior hit a left-footed shot into Matthew Mozynski's goal just 22 seconds into the match.

However, Campbell leveled the score in the 13th minute when Sam Butts played a ball down the right side to Seth Jones, who turned and dribbled into the area.  The freshman slid a pass  across to Farias, who tucked the ball inside the right post.

Farias nearly doubled the lead in the 15th minute when Farias drove a low pass across the box to Michael Clemmons, whose shot forced a reaction save from GWU keeper Matthew Swan. Jones' 19th minute attempt from the top of the area was on target, but Swan again made the stop.

The Camels went in front in the 28th minute on Farias' 10th goal of the year.  Josh Signey hit a low cross off a restart from the right flank and Farias' volley went inside the left post.

Campbell out-shot the visitors 10-1 in the opening period and each of Campbell's first six attempts were on target.

Jones scored his fourth goal of the year just after an hour of play when Farias found the freshman for a shot from the top of the box and a 3-1 Campbell edge.

Keeper Matt Mozynski twice preserved the two-goal lead with a diving stop in the 62nd minute and a reaction save in the 77th on Al-Gashamy's blast from inside 10 yards.

A sophomore from Indiantown, Fla., Farias completed his first collegiate hat trick in the 82nd minute on a finish set up by short passes by Travis Gonzalez and Marco Perez at the top of the area.  Farias, who entered the match ranked 6th nationally in goals per game and 8th in points per contest, now has 11 goals and three assists for 25 points.

His performance marked Campbell's first hat trick in nearly two years since Jhuvon Francis scored three times against Longwood on Oct. 23, 2013.

"I thought Bradley was a handful," said Fonder.  "He finished with nine shots and that shows he was ready to play. We need him to do that day-in and day-out and I look forward him to doing that the rest of the season."

Gardner-Webb cut the final margin to 4-2 on Filipe Conceicao's strike off a Kai Miettinen assist in the 84th minute.

Campbell finished the match with a 22-7 edge in shots, 11-6 in shots on target.  Mozynski made four saves in the Camel nets, while Matthew Swan had seven for the Bulldogs.

The Camels return to action Tuesday when they host second-ranked North Carolina at 7 p.m.
