Swimming falls at Georgia Southern 146-124

STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern took seven of the night's first nine events and held on to defeat visiting Campbell 146-124 Friday.

Georgia Southern won the night's first four events before Campbell's Taylor McMinn broke through with a winning time of 1:08.29 in the 200 breaststroke.

Michelle Case followed that by topping the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.96, with Caroline Clark (2:07.30) and Madison Scott (2:08.03) coming in second and third for the Camels.

Scott added a win in the 100 fly with a time of 57.06, with Case finishing in the runner-up spot with a 57.59 mark. Karah Sizemore also picked up an individual victory with a 2:05.81 in the 200 back.

The Eagles moved to 2-1 on the season, while Campbell dipped to 0-2 in dual competition.

Campbell heads to North Florida tomorrow, with the meet slated for a 1 p.m. start. The Camels return home on Oct. 24, hosting UNC Asheville. Campbell also hosts East Carolina and Gardner-Webb on Nov. 7, followed by Vanderbilt on Oct. 14.
