GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Max Hasenstab scored three second-half goals to lead top-seeded Winthrop to a 4-0 victory over fourth-seeded Campbell in the semifinals of the 2015 Big South Conference Men's Soccer Championship.

The Camels finish the season with a 10-9-0 overall record to claim their first winning campaign since 2012. It was also CU's first appearance in the conference semifinals since re-joining the Big South in 2011. Bradley Farias, the Big South Attacking Player of the Year, finished the season with 15 goals, the most in the league.

"Once the guys get over the disappointment of losing today, they should look back and hold their heads high," said Head Coach Dustin Fonder. "Where we started back in August to where we are now is a huge improvement. Not just how we performed on the field, but the whole attitude of the program. The guys really started to learn and develop a winning mentality and that is going to go a long way in the future."

Senior Isaiah Page led the Camels with three shots on goal against the Eagles (11-6-1). Farias and Reafe Anderson each registered a shot on goal.

Jordi Lluch opened the scoring with a penalty kick goal in the 54th minute. Campbell goalkeeper Matthew Mozynski was whistled for the foul on a tackle in the box after he had come off of his line.

Hasenstab converted two free kicks from nearly identical spots from 20 yards out in the 60th and the 71st minutes to push the Eagle lead to 3-0. He capped the scoring in the 76th minute with a goal in the box off a pass from Nil Vinyals.

Fabian Broich (10-2-1) earned the win in the net with a pair of saves in the shutout effort. Mozynski (5-8-0) took the loss with two stops.

In the first half, Winthrop's Mangus Thorsson's free kick from 25 yards out hit off the post and was corralled by Daniel Mukuna. Mukuna sent a deep ball to Farias, who started a counter with Page trailing. Farias laid the ball off to Page who then fired the shot, but it rolled just wide of the goal. Farias was whistled for a close offside call five minutes later that negated a one-on-one faceoff against Broich.

The Camels had chances to put a goal on the board late in the contest, but Anderson's shot in the final minute was stopped by the diving Broich. Ricki Gaez had a follow-up attempt at the goal but was blocked away by the Eagle defense.

"To continue to build this program, step one is obviously retaining the players we have now and continuing to get better," said Fonder. "Step two is recruiting to add to that talent. Then, after we got the taste of winning this year, we need to get into the weight room, running on the track and just putting in the work so we can play longer into this tournament and then the NCAA Tournament.

"It's a process, it doesn't happen overnight and it takes hard work. We challenged the guys to let it soak in tonight and then wake up in the morning with a good attitude and look forward to January when we will get back to work."

Winthrop advances to Sunday's championship match and will face the winner of the Radford/High Point semifinal matchup.
