BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell University women's golf head coach John Crooks has announced the signing of Desiree Andersson of Hollviken, Sweden and Stacey White of Brisbane, Australia to athletics grants in aid. Andersson and White will enroll in the 2016 fall semester.
"Student-athletes like Desiree and Stacey are what makes coaching so much fun. Each has a remarkable skill set. Both are athletic, competitive, and have winning attitudes," said Coach Crooks, who is in his 25th year in charge of the Campbell women's program. "I can only imagine how competitive Campbell University will be to have two world class athletes like Desiree and Stacey join a very successful team."
Andersson is a three-year member of the Swedish Girls A-team. She finished fifth in the 2015 Swedish U-21 championship and was third at the Campeonato de Castellón in Spain as well as in the Skandia Tour Elit Flickor. "Desiree has been exposed to some of the best technical training in the game while in high school and during her time with the Swedish National team," said Crooks. "The ability to shoot 6-under in competition already in her golf career is a remarkable feat."
White will join her sister, Nadine, on the Campbell golf team next fall. Stacey White is a member of the Queensland Junior Girls State Team since 2013. She placed first in the 2013 and 2014 Australian Interstate Series and was runner-up this year.

"Stacey has been recognized as a premiere golfer in Queensland for several years," said Crooks. "As a student-athlete, she may have received as many awards for her academic successes as she has for her golf."
Andersson and White join a Campbell University program that has earned NCAA regional berths 18 times in the last 23 years, Coach Crooks' team finished sixth at the 2015 NCAA Raleigh Regional to secure its second-straight trip to the NCAA Championship, where CU finished 23rd.
