BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell set a 200 medley relay mark to help the Camels finish day one of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships sixth.
CU registered a time of 1:44.23 in the 200 medley relay with Lily Tang, Carly Bowles, Caroline Clark and Sindija Silina, taking fifth in a crowded finish. The mark lowered the previous record of 1:44.80, set at last year's CCSA meet.
The Camels also placed sixth in the 800 freestyle relay on the day with a time of 7:34.80 (Michelle Case, Sindija Silina, Sarah Jabusch and Lily Tang).
Campbell's 96 team points are good for sixth, with Florida Gulf Coast leading the 11-team meet at 205. Incarnate Word (187), Georgia Southern (146), Liberty (112) and Gardner-Webb (106) round out the top five.
CCSA Championship action resumes tomorrow at 10 a.m. with preliminary rounds. Finals contests begin at 6 p.m. Gabrielsen Natatorium on the University of Georgia campus.
