BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell set its second relay record in two days and remain in sixth place Thursday at the 2015 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships.
The Camels lowered their 200 freestyle relay record, taking fifth in the event with a time of 1:34.65 behind Sindija Silina, Kat Costin, Larissa Joassaint and Michelle Case. The performance topped the 1:35.57 set at last year's CCSA meet.
The school record marked the second broken by the Camels so far at the CCSA Championships after setting the 200 medley relay standard (1:44.23) on Thursday.
Also in Thursday's action, Rebecca Stanton qualified for the 500 freestyle B finals, while Geena Squartino placed in the C finals. Stanton finished 16th on the day with a time of 5:08.86, while Squartino's 5:07.08 was good for 18th.
In the 200 IM, Lily Tang posted a 2:05.24 mark to finish 12th in Thursday night's finals. Caroline Clark also took 20th with a 2:07.11 clip.
Michelle Case and Larissa Joassaint finished 21st and 22nd in the 50 freestyle with times of 24.02 and 24.16.
Campbell remained in sixth place following day two with 191 team points, while Florida Gulf Coast leads the way with 626 points. Liberty (461), Incarnate Word (407), Georgia Southern (383.5) and Gardner-Webb (340.5) round out the top five in the standings.
CCSA Championship action resumes Friday morning at 10 a.m. with preliminary rounds. Finals contests begin at 6 p.m. at Gabrielsen Natatorium on the University of Georgia campus.
