ATHENS, GA. – Lily Tang and Carly Bowles both set school records to lead Campbell Friday at the 2015 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships. Campbell remains sixth in the 11-team meet.
Tang, a junior from Marietta, Ga., registered a 55.40 in the 100 backstroke finals, taking seventh in the event. The mark lowered her own school record (56.25), set at last season's CCSA Championships.
Bowles also broke the CU 100 breaststroke record, a mark the junior already held from the 2013 CCSA Championships. The Auburn, Ala. native turned in a record time of 1:03.93, taking 10th on the night.
Campbell set school records in each of the opening two days of the CCSA Championships, setting the 200 medley relay standard (1:44.23) on Thursday, and lowering the 200 freestyle relay record with a time of 1:34.65 behind Sindija Silina, Kat Costin, Larissa Joassaint and Michelle Case.
Meredith Cooper (1:07.24) also took 19th and Kaila Billups (1:07.57) placed 20th in the 100 breaststroke.
In the 400 IM, Sarah Jabusch posted a time of 4:26.38 for 10th, while Sindija Silina placed 12th with a 4:32.79 mark. Caroline Clark recorded a 56.70 in the 100 butterfly to take 12th, while Michelle Case claimed 17th with a 56.89.
The 200 free saw Rebecca Stanton take 21st with a 1:54.22 mark.
Campbell closed the day with a 3:49.28 in the 400 medley relay, with Lily Tang, Carly Bowles, Caroline Clark and Michelle Case taking sixth in the event.
Campbell remains in sixth place following day three with 384 team points, while Florida Gulf Coast leads the way with 1114 points. Liberty (834), Georgia Southern (782.5), Gardner-Webb (675.5) and Incarnate Word (618) round out the top five in the standings.
The final day of the CCSA Championships begin Saturday morning at 10 a.m. with preliminary rounds. Finals contests begin at 6 p.m. at the Ramsey Center on the University of Georgia campus.
