CHAPEL HILL, N.C. –Women's tennis fell to Davidson Saturday afternoon 5-2 in a neutral site location match at the Cone-Kenfield Indoor Tennis Center, on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill.
The Camels dropped their second consecutive match and fall to 3-4 on the season.
Campbell jumped out to an early 1-0 match lead after the duos of freshman Georgina Segarra and junior Ana Maria Ortiz, and sophomore Maud Mrad and Irina Karangozishvili, earned the doubles competition point for the Camels.
Davidson answered in singles play claiming five-of-six matches. Segerra earned the only singles match win for the Camels, downing Sarah Stein 6-1, 3-6, 6-0.
Senior Tamara Stanic, junior Ewa Telenga, Mrad and Karangozishvili all pushed their matches to three sets but couldn't earn the extra points for Campbell.
Campbell women's tennis will return to action Wednesday at 2 p.m. as it travels to Conway, S.C., to take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
