Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Junior Loren Day matched a career-high with seven goals and finished with a career-best 10 points, but Campbell could not overcome a second-half rally by LIU-Brooklyn in a 21-20 setback on Saturday afternoon at Barker-Lane Stadium.

The Blackbirds cut into the lead with goals from Tori Shinkowitz and Brittany Rader, leaving Campbell with a 4-3 advantage at the 17:54 mark of the first half. The Camels responded, however, with four unanswered strikes of their own over the next three and a half minutes to build an 8-3 lead. Cook netted a pair of goals during the spurt to pace Campbell.
Despite falling into the five-goal deficit, LIU-Brooklyn rallied back with six straight goals, sparked by a pair of goals each from McQueen and Peters, to take a 9-8 lead with 6:52 remaining in the half.
Over the final five minutes of the first frame, the Camels rattled off three more scores, including two more by Day, before a late goal by the Blackbirds' Peters left Campbell with an 11-10 lead heading into the locker room.
Out of the break, LIU-Brooklyn scored five of the first six goals to create a 15-12 advantage with 17:58 to play in the contest. Peters and McQueen again netted two apiece to spur the run, but Mackenzie Koeller cut back into the lead at the 16:40 mark to leave Campbell down just a pair of goals.
A four-goal run over a four-minute span midway through the half put the Camels back on top by a 17-16 margin with just 7:50 to play. Day and Hitch each scored two goals to spark the run for Campbell.
LIU-Brooklyn knotted the score just nine seconds later off the stick of Peters, the first of three straight goals for the Blackbirds to take a 19-17 lead with 5:38 remaining. Campbell pulled within one three times down the stretch, but could not find the late equalizer.
Campbell will have nearly two weeks off before traveling to take on St. Francis (Pa.) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27. The Camels have defeated the Red Flash in each of their first two seasons with an 8-7 win in 2013 and a 12-8 victory during the 2014 campaign.
