WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Campbell wrapped up its 2015 outdoor season opener at the Wake Forest Open on Saturday afternoon, earning 10 individual top-20 finishes and a fourth-place finish in the women's 4x400m relay.
Davian Rhodes had the top individual finish of the day, tying for fifth in the men's high jump after a leap of 6-6.75 (2.00m). On the track, the top finish of the day belonged to Morgan Timiney, who took seventh in the men's 800m run in 1:53.30.
Campbell will return to action next Friday and Saturday as the squad splits to compete in the Raleigh Relays (Raleigh, N.C.) and the Texas Relays (Austin, Texas).
Following is an event-by-event recap of Campbell's action from the final day of the Wake Forest Open on Saturday.
Men's 200m Dash
Fabian Jarrett led a group of four Campbell athletes in the event, finishing 14th after turning in a time of 22.07. Nate Kennedy finished 57th overall in 23.24, Jacob Carter took 66th in 23.38 and DeAndre Douglas rounded out the Camels in 23.43 to finish 69th.
Women's 200m Dash
Five different Camels competed in the sprint, with Jocelyn Culbreath (15th, 25.34), Lilla Juhasz (19th, 25.61) and Asia Olds (20th, 25.67) grabbing top-20 finishes. Lynette Akai finished 25th overall with a time of 25.81, and Jaszlyn Jenkins took 110th in 28.82. Andriel Strachan wrapped up the contingent in 120th after crossing the line in 31.03.
Men's 800m Run
Morgan Timiney posted a top-10 finish for Campbell, finishing seventh overall after a time of 1:53.30. Eric Baldwin also competed for the Camels, taking 15th in 1:56.20.
Women's 800m Run
A quartet of Camels competed in the mid-distance event, spearheaded by Kelsey Rea's 42nd-place finish in 2:21.70. Kaelyn Yoder was up next, taking 56th in 2:23.94, followed by Alfreda Hagans with a time of 2:32.22 to finish 75th. Brianna Meyrick rounded out the group, crossing the line in 2:36.14 to place 86th overall.
Men's 3,000m Run
Anthony Hughes just narrowly fell outside the top 10, taking 11th in 8:48.88. Mason Holt turned in a time of 9:12.90 to finish 21st in the event.
Women's 3,000m Run
The only Campbell representative in the long-distance run, Daisy Chepchirchir placed 21st overall with a time of 11:21.62.
Women's 4x400m Relay
Campbell earned a fourth-place finish in the 1,600m relay, crossing the line on the final leg for a time of 3:50.00.
Men's High Jump
Davian Rhodes opened his outdoor season with a top-five finish, reaching a height of 6-6.75 (2.00m) to finish tied for fifth overall in his signature event.
Men's Long Jump
Lorne Jenkins leapt a distance of 21-1.25 (6.43m) to finish 17th in the event, while Taylor Swanson placed 45th after a jump of 18-9.75 (5.73m).
Women's Long Jump
Sabina Allen led the Campbell duo in the event, placing 15th overall with a leap of 17-2.75 (5.25m), while Jaszlyn Jenkins brought home a 27th-place finish with a distance of 16-6.5 (5.04m).
Men's Discus Throw
Sharaj Prince was the lone competitor in the event for the Camels, placing 26th after a heave of 126-5 (38.55m).
