ROCKWALL, TEXAS – Campbell set three school records on the way to a fifth place finish at the CSCAA Collegiate Classic.
The event marked CU's second consecutive postseason appearance, also competing in the CSCAA Classic in 2014.
Freshman Caroline Clark set a school record in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.22, placing fourth in the event.
Another CU freshman, Michelle Case, set a program record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:03.59. The Fort Mill, S.C. native, who also set a Campbell record in the 100 free earlier this season, placed fourth in the event.
The Camels also notched a school record in the 400 freestyle relay, with Sindija Silina, Kat Costin, Larissa Joassaint and Michelle Case clocking in at 3:28.55, taking third on the day.
Campbell finished fifth overall with 352 points, just behind Incarnate Word's 398 points. Grand Canyon took the event's title with 618 points, followed by Rice (550) and Brigham Young (440). Western Kentucky (199) and Columbia (16) rounded out team scoring.
Grand Canyon also took the men's team championship with 788.5 points.
Case also finished runner-up in the 500 freestyle with a mark of 24.01, while Larissa Joassaint took 10th with a 24.24. Clark tallied a seventh place showing in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.44.
Lily Tang took fifth in both the 100 and 200 backstroke, recording times of 56.70 and 2:00.97. Carly Bowles gathered times of 1:04.69 and 2:22.21 in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, taking fourth and sixth, respectively.
Sindija Silina also placed fourth in the 100 free (52.30) and fifth in the 400 IM (4:29.69) for the Camels.
In other relay action, Campbell placed third in the 800 freestyle relay, with Case, Clark, Silina and Tang clocking in at 7:39.37. Campbell took fourth in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.53 behind Silina, Kat Costin, Joassaint and Case.
CU also placed fourth in both the 200 medley relay (1:45.64; Tang, Bowles, Clark, Joassaint) and the 400 medley relay (3:49.70; Tang, Bowles, Clark, Case).
