DURHAM, N.C. – Campbell women's tennis earned its fifth road win of the season as it defeated the North Carolina Central Eagles 4-1 Monday afternoon at the NCCU Tennis Courts.

With the win, Campbell moves to 9-8 overall and 5-4 on the road this season. The Eagles fall to 4-12 overall and 1-2 on their home court.

The Camels clinched the doubles point as they took the first to matches. Senior Tamara Stanic and sophomore Muad Mrad defeated Ekaterina Nekrasova and Rebecca Wood by tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-5); junior Ana Maria Ortiz and freshman Irina Karngozishvili claimed the second match from Mia Ramic and Aissa Muamba, 8-4.

NC Central opened singles play with a win as Muamba defeated freshman Georgina Segarra in straight sets 7-5, 6-3, but Campbell responded by taking the next three singles matches from the Eagles.

Stanic claimed victory over Wood 6-4, 7-5 to earn her ninth win of the season in singles matches. Karangozishvili also tallied her ninth win of the year as she defeated Nekerazova 7-5, 6-3.

The Camels will return to action Saturday as they host UNC Asheville at the Nisbett Tennis Center Satuday with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.
