BUIES CREEK, N.C. – In the final game of the Hampton Inn Camel Stampede, the Camels (13-7) defeated IPFW 4-2 after freshman Chandler Patterson hit a double to the center to score two late in the fifth inning.
Despite losing the game, IPFW's Caitlyn DeLong hit a home run in the fourth inning, which would be the team's first of the season.
Senior Julia Callicutt (5-2) faced 26 batters, striking out eight of them. The right handed pitcher finished the night allowing four hits, two runs, and two walks to pick up her fifth win.
IPFW (0-15) was tied with the Camels through four innings, but Chandler Patterson would be the one to change the game in the Camels favor.

After the fourth inning, the Mastodons wouldn't earn anymore runs and had no extra base hits during the contest.
