AMHERST, VA. – Mikko Lehtovuori is tied for third individually and Campbell sits in seventh place after 36 holes Friday of the Liberty Spring Invitational men's golf tournament at Poplar Grove.
A junior from Lahti, Finland, Lehtovuori shot 71-69—140 and trails only co-leaders William Register of North Carolina (67-70—137) and Dawson Armstrong of Lipscomb (69-68—137) heading into Saturday's final round.
Lehtovuori made 11 birdies on the day and is tied for the lead in both par-3 (one-under) and par-5 (five-under) scoring.
Campbell sophomore Gaston Bertinotti is tied for 30th (72-74—146). Craig Hornberger (75-75—150) and Thomas La Morte (74-76—150) are tied for 47th, while Jeremy Nevius is tied for 66th (74-80—154).
Tenth-ranked Oklahoma (283-279—562) leads the 18-school event by five strokes over No.-19 North Carolina (282-285—567). Campbell (291-294—585) is three strokes behind sixth-place Radford (291-291—582) entering the final 18 holes.
