BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Following last Saturday's games, Campbell baseball players and coaches shaved their heads on the field in support of the Vs. Cancer Foundation.
The Vs. Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving kids' lives by empowering athletes and communities to fund lifesaving childhood cancer efforts. In its first year, Campbell raise more than $7,000.
"Our guys were great," said head coach Justin Haire. "We brought it up early in the fall and one of the things we have talked about since August is trying to make a positive impact on the world. This is something that we can do and it's for an awesome cause. Our guys were all in on it, and they look great."
"It's a good cause," said senior Heath Bowers. "We did it for the people that are fighting for something a lot more than what we fight for on a daily basis. Cancer is a bad thing, and anything we can do to help find a cure for childhood cancer, or any cancer, is big."
