Juhasz breaks 100m hurdles record at Red Raider Open

LUBBOCK, Texas - Lilla Juhasz and Lynette Akai traveled south to compete for Campbell at the Red Raider Open on Thursday afternoon, with Juhasz setting a new school record in the 100m hurdles and earning a runner-up finish.

Juhasz topped her own record time of 13.50 in the event set earlier this month at the High Point VertKlasse Meeting after crossing the line in 13.25. The sophomore finished just two-tenths of a second behind Texas Tech's Le'Tristan Pledger in the opening heat.

Akai turned in a personal-best performance of 24.26 in the women's 200m dash, good for a seventh-place finish in the sprint. Akai also competed in the 400m dash, placing fourth overall and breaking the tape in 54.88.

Juhasz rounded out the day's action for Campbell with a run of 12.01 in the 100m dash to finish 11th overall in the event.
