CLINTON, S.C. – Julia Callicutt tossed a one-hitter for the second-straight day and Campbell rapped 16 hits to defeat Presbyterian 8-1 Sunday and sweep a three-game Big South Conference series.
Campbell (28-25, 8-15) extended its season-best win streak to seven games heading into Thursday's opening round of the Big South Conference Championship at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium. The Blue Hose (22-24, 10-12) managed only four runs and seven hits in the series with the Camels.
One day after tossing a 1-hit shutout, Callicutt (14-8) did not surrender a hit until Hope Rogers' RBI double with one out in the fifth. Callicutt walked one and struck out seven on the day.
Kirstine Womack went 4-for-4 and scored twice, while Stephanie Jones was 3-of-4 with two doubles and a pair of RBI. Melissa Tullar also went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI for the Camels, who outscored PC 17-4 over the weekend.
PC starter Kensley Loudermelk (12-9) gave up six runs on nine hits in three and two-third innings.
