TALLINN, ESTONIA – At the 2015 European Athletics U-23 Championships, Campbell runner Lilla Juhasz set the Hungarian U-23 record with a time of 13.20 seconds in her semifinal heat of the 100m hurdles.
Her fifth-place time of 13.20 sets a new personal record for Juhasz as well as a Hungary U-23 record. The junior from Rabapaty, Hungary, broke the previous Hungarian U-23 record of 13.59 seconds held by Xenia Krizsan. Juhasz now ranks seventh in the 2015 European U-23 Rankings in the 100m hurdles event.
With her fifth-place semifinal finish Juhasz advances to the 100m finals on Saturday at 10:55 a.m. EST inside the Kadriorg Stadium in Tallinn. Juhasz is the lone Hungarian in the 100m finals, which places two runners each from Germany, Russia and the Netherlands. Along with her finals appearance, Juhasz is on pace to earn a selection to the 2016 Summer Olympics team for Hungary as she is a top performer in the 100m hurdles.
Prior to her semifinal run, Juhasz finished second out of her qualifying heat with a time of 13.72 seconds. The junior turned in a collegiate-best and school-record performance of 13.29 on April 30 at the Red Raider Open in Lubbock, Texas, where she also earned a runner-up finish.
