Women's soccer releases 2015 fall slate

2015 Women's Soccer Schedule

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell women's soccer head coach Stuart Horne has announced the schedule for the 2015 season. The Camels will have 19 total matches on the year including 10 at the friendly confines of the Eakes Athletic Complex.

Campbell will take the field with a class of eight seniors leading the charge, along with 10 incoming freshman who look to make an immediate impact to the program.

"We're looking forward to this season's matches." Horne said, "We've put together a challenging non-conference schedule that will get us prepared for Big South action."

The Camels open up the 2015 campaign with an exhibition match against USC Upstate at 7 p.m. inside the Eakes Athletic Complex. The Orange and Black will have an 11-day break following before the season-opener at Richmond. The Camels earned a come from behind win against the Spiders in the first match last year, 3-2, after a free kick in the 87th minute from Ashley Hartert.

Following, the Camels return home for a three-game home stand beginning at 4 p.m. on August 24 against America East member University of Albany. They'll continue with Davidson (Aug. 29, 7 p.m.) and South Carolina State (Sept. 2, 7 p.m.). Concluding the week, Campbell takes a trip to the picturesque mountains of North Carolina as they pay a visit to Southern Conference member Western Carolina University at 7 p.m. on September 4.

Continuing the non-conference slate, Campbell will participate in the UNCW Hilton Garden Inn Mayfaire Invitational with a pair of matches scheduled for September 11 and September 13 against St. John's Red Storm of the Big East and host UNC Wilmington respectively.

Campbell will host SoCon member East Tennessee State on September 18 at 5 p.m. to close out its non-conference slate. Five days later, the Camels open up Big South action against Charleston Southern at 7 p.m. The weekend match will Campbell host UNC Asheville at 5 p.m. on September 26.

A rematch of last season's 2-1 Big South semifinal defeat will occur on September 30 as Orange and Black travel to Lynchburg, Va., to take on the Liberty Flames at 3 p.m. Campbell will return home for two consecutive matches as they host Radford at 3 p.m. on October 3 and the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb at 7 p.m. on October 7.

Four of the final five regular season matches will require travel, as the Camels take a trip to Clinton, S.C., for a matchup with the Presbyterian Blue Hose at 2 p.m. on October 10. Senior Night will take place during on final home match for the 2015 campaign brings the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers to town at 7 p.m. on October 14.

The final three matches will be away contests for the Camels as they travel to Winthrop (Oct. 17 1 p.m.), Longwood (Oct. 21, 7 p.m.) and High Point (Oct. 27, 7 p.m.).

Big South tournament action will begin on the weekend of October 30 with the first round of matches at the higher seed location, followed by the semifinal and final on November 6 and 8 in Greensboro, N.C.
