WOLCOTT, COLO. – Tahnia Ravnjak is tied for third place and Campbell is tied for fourth in the team standings following Monday's first round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club.

A senior from Cordeaux Heights, Australia, Ravnjak shot a one-under-par 71 Monday on the par-72, 6261-yard Red Sky Fazio course.  She birdied four of her last eight holes, including the par-three 17th and par-five 18th, and sits only one shot behind co-leaders Sabina Pena of TCU and Sirene Blair from San Diego State.  Only six golfers in the 86-player field ended Monday's play in red numbers.

Representing the Big South Conference, Campbell is tied with 19th-ranked Arizona State at 11-over 299 heading into Tuesday's second round.  TCU leads the event at one-over 289, followed by San Diego State (294) and host Denver (296).  After Campbell and Arizona State, Wichita State (302), Mississippi (303), Long Beach State (305), Memphis (306) and Toledo (311) round out the top 10.

Ravnjak and Campbell sophomore Annelie Sjoholm combined for 10 of CU's 13 birdies on the day and are tied for second place in the field with five apiece.  Ravnjak played the par-four holes even to tie for third.  Sjoholm, who shot a two-over 74 and is tied for 15th overall, played the par-four holes at one-under, tied for best in the event.

Sophomore Ayelen Irizar and junior Louise Latorre are tied for 30th place at five-over 77.  Junior Nadine White is tied for 44th (78).  Irizar played the par-three layouts at one-under on Monday, third-best in the field, while Latorre made 11 pars.  Irizar and White both recorded 12 pars to tie for fourth best among all individuals.

As a team, Campbell, Long Beach State and TCU top the list with 53 total pars.

Tuesday's second round is set for a 10:00 a.m. (MDT) start.  Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.

Ranked No.-53 in the Golfweek pre-season poll and No.-45 by Golfstat, Campbell opened the season with a 12-stroke victory over Old Dominion Sept. 6-8 in the Golfweek Program Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C.

At an elevation of 7,650 feet above sea level, Tom Fazio's Red Sky design winds through both open sage-covered hills and a dense aspen forest. The Fazio Course merges dramatic vistas of Vail's Back Bowls with a variety of terrains.
