WOLCOTT, COLO. – Tahnia Ravnjak is tied for seventh place and Campbell sits fourth in the team standings following Tuesday's second round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge at Red Sky Golf Club.
Representing the Big South Conference, Campbell (299-297—596) owns an eight-stroke lead over fifth-place and 19th-ranked Arizona State of the PAC-12 heading into Wednesday's final round.
San Diego State (294-286—580) of the Mountain West Conference leads the 17-school event by six strokes over host Denver (296-290—586). First day leader TCU is third (289-299—588). Memphis (306-298—604) is tied with Arizona State (299-305—604) in fifth place, while Long Beach State (605), Mississippi (606), Pepperdine (611) and Nebraska (613) complete the top 10.
Ravnjak (71-76—147) is eight strokes behind leader Emma Henrikson of San Diego State (72-67—139), the lone player in the 86-golfer field under par heading into the final 18 holes. Ravnjak made three birdies on Tuesday, including one on the par-five 18th hole. The senior from Cordeaux Heights, Australia is tied for first in the field in par-5 scoring (-4) and her eight birdies through 36 holes are tied for fifth.
Junior Louise Latorre shot Campbell's low round of the day (77-71—148) and moved into a tie for 12th place along with sophomore Annelie Sjoholm (74-74—148). Latorre's second round included three birdies, 10 pars and an eagle on the par-five 15th hole.
Sjoholm is tied for the tournament lead in par-four scoring (-2) and her 10 birdies through two rounds are tied for second. She made five birdies Tuesday.
Junior Nadine White is tied for 38th (78-76—154), while sophomore Ayelen Irizar is 82nd (77-89—166).
Wednesday's final round is set for an 8:30 a.m. (MDT) shotgun start. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
Ranked No.-53 in the Golfweek pre-season poll and No.-45 by Golfstat, Campbell opened the season with a 12-stroke victory over Old Dominion Sept. 6-8 in the Golfweek Program Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C.
