WILMINGTON, N.C. - Sophomore Marco Perez scored his first collegiate goal and fellow sophomore Bradley Farias fired his second of the season, but Campbell fell 6-2 to host UNC Wilmington in the Wrightsville Beach Classic on Sunday afternoon.

The Camels (0-3-0) equalized just after halftime as Perez hammered home a putback after goalkeeper Sean Melvin was unable to corral junior Tunji Osifeso's initial shot. UNC Wilmington (3-0-1) scored four unanswered following the first Campbell score to take control of the contest.

"I thought in the beginning of the second half we showed good character to fight back the way that we did," Head Coach Dustin Fonder said. "Unfortunately we made some mistakes that put us in a bad position, and those are things that we have to work on as we get back out on the training field on Tuesday."

The Seahawks held a 9-6 advantage in shots on target but were out-cornered by Campbell 8-2. Melvin earned the win in goal for UNC Wilmington, making three saves in 77 minutes. For Campbell, redshirt sophomore Matthew Mozynski made a pair of saves in 71 minutes of action.

For much of the first half, neither side could put a chance on goal. Over the opening 30 minutes, UNC Wilmington had three shots and Farias fired one for the Camels, none of which tested the goalkeepers for either team.

Kalvin Kromer gave UNC Wilmington a 1-0 advantage in the 35th minute, heading in a cross from Jordan Cordero past Mozynski. Just one minute later, senior Isaiah Page had his chance to level the score saved by Melvin as the Seahawks maintained their lead through the halftime break.

Coming out of the locker room, Perez took advantage of a loose ball to pull Campbell even at 1-1 in the 46th minute. Osifeso had his initial shot stopped by Melvin, but the sophomore was there for the rebound and his first collegiate goal.

Four unanswered goals from the Seahawks over the next 25 minutes gave UNC Wilmington a 5-1 lead with just 20 minutes remaining. Nathaniel Goodwin, Cordero, Daniel Escobar and Spencer Tayloe netted the scores, the last of which came on Tayloe's header in the 70th minute after passes from Escobar and Joel Bylander.

Farias pulled the Camels within three at 71:08, capitalizing on a Seahawk turnover in the defensive half and scoring on an unassisted strike for his second goal of the season and 11th of his career.

David Lozano of the Seahawks netted the final goal of the match, scoring less than one minute after Farias to reach the final 6-2 scoreline.

Osifeso and freshman Josh Signey were named to the Wrightsville Beach Classic All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the day's action.

"Josh played a big role in our midfield this weekend starting both matches," Fonder said. "He covered a lot of ground for us. Tunji really stepped up today against UNC Wilmington and put himself into good positions throughout the match. He helped to create Marco's goal and was a bright spot for us today."

Campbell will return to action next Friday and Sunday at the Belmont Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. The Camels will face former Atlantic Sun foes Lipscomb (Friday, 4:30 p.m.) and Belmont (Sunday, 3:30 p.m.) in the event.
