PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Nadine White is tied for fifth individually and Campbell sits in fifth place in the team standings after Sunday's first round of the women's Golfweek Program Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
White, a junior from Brisbane, Australia, is one of three Camels among the top 10 individuals after the first day of the 54-hole event. She shot a one-under-par 70 on the par-71, 6002-yard Caledonia layout, firing three birdies and making 13 pars.
Junior Louise Latorre and senior Tahnia Ravnjak both recorded two birdies and 14 pars to finish the day at one-over 72 and tie for ninth place in the 90-golfer field. Sophomore Annelie Sjoholm was nine-over (80) and tied for 61st, while fellow sophomore Ayelen Irizar was disqualified from Sunday's round after signing for a wrong score on her scorecard.
Campbell led the field in team par-four scoring (+3) and was even on the par-five holes (T3rd).
Old Dominion leads the 18-team women's field at three-over 287, followed by Morehead State (290), Stetson (291), Mercer (293) and Campbell (294). Elon and Gardner-Webb are tied for sixth (297).
Anna Magnusson of Morehead State shot a seven-under par 64 to take the first round lead. Giulia Vandenberg of Stets is second at five-under 66.
In the combined men's and women's Program Challenge standings, Jacksonville and Old Dominion are tied for the lead at one-under, 10 strokes ahead of Elon (nine-over). Campbell (10-over) and Mercer are tied for fourth.
