Joe Hilton Invite Heat Sheet
BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell track & field kicks off the 2016 indoor season Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Joe Hilton Invitational hosted by the University of North Carolina. The meet will begin with the women's weight throw at 10 a.m.
For Campbell, getting the opportunity to compete early on will be key for head coach Michael Kelly to see the status of his team after preseason training.
"One of the reasons we brought the team back early this year is to compete at this meet," Kelly said. "It's a low-key meet with only a few schools but it provides an excellent opportunity for us to get our feet wet. It is a good opportunity for us to see where we are at fitness wise, as well as a chance to see what technical work we need to improve on."
Along with the host Tar Heels, the Camels will face competition from North Carolina Central, Webber International University (NAIA), North Greenville (Div. II), Richard Bland College (NJCAA) and Johnson C. Smith University (Div. II).
Campbell's men team was selected second in the preseason conference poll while the women's squad was placed fourth in the 2016 poll, as voted on the Big South coaches.
Live results will be provided in the links above along with the meet heat sheet, listing individuals performing in each event.
