Camels move up three spots to fourth place after 36 holes of ODU/OBX Collegiate

POWELLS POINT, N.C. – Thomas La Morte fired a 3-under-par 68 and Campbell moved up three places in the team standings to fourth after Monday's second round of the Old Dominion/OBX Collegiate at Kilmarlic Golf Club.

Sophomore Ray Kraivixien is tied for 16th place at even-par 142 (71-71), while La Morte (75-68) and Craig Hornberger (69-74) are both at one-over 143 and tied for 19th.  Jesper Svensson is tied for 30th (74-71—145) and Gaston Bertinotti is tied for 36th (74-72—146) through 36 holes on the par-71, 6550-yard layout.

Ball State was 7-under for the day, 10-under for the tournament (281-277—558) and owns a 3-stroke edge over Akron (279-282—561).  Host ODU is third (282-283—565), followed by Campbell (288-282—570) and UNC Wilmington (283-289—572) in the 18-school field.

As a team, the Camels are tied for second with 35 birdies and in par-four scoring (+9).  CU is tied for third on the par-five holes (-10) and with 112 pars.

Kraivixien made four birdies Monday and is six strokes behind individual leader Keegan McKinney of Ball State (69-67—136).  La Morte had five birdies in the second round and ranks fourth in the field in par-five scoring (-4).

The 2015 ODU/OBX individual champ, Hornberger followed Sunday's 69 with a 3-over 74 on Monday.  He is tied for fifth in par-four scoring (-1).  Svensson made two birdies and 14 pars Monday and is tied for second in the field in par-five scoring (-5).

Campbell will be paired with UNCW and George Mason for Tuesday's final round and begin from the first tee at 8:45 a.m.  Live scoring is available at BirdieFire.com.
