Swimming hosts Georgia Southern, UNC Pembroke

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell returns to the Johnson Aquatic Center this weekend, hosting Georgia Southern and UNC Pembroke. The Camels will take on GSU Friday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. before hosting UNCP Saturday in a 1 p.m. start.

Campbell is 3-2 in dual meets on the season following a split on the road last weekend in Greenville, N.C. The Camels topped Catawba 218-26 while falling to host East Carolina 157-109.

Caroline Clark and Geena Squartino both secured wins in the split. Clark claimed the 100 fly with a time of 57.13, also topping the 400 IM with a 4:39.93 mark. Squartino posted the top time in the 1000 free with a 10:34.85 mark. Megan Shoemaker took runner-up with a time of 10:40.53.

Campbell won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:47.42 to start the day.

Georgia Southern is 1-1 in the early going, taking down UNC Asheville in Statesboro, Ga. last time out. In its first season of competition, UNCP is 0-4, falling 96-75 to Ferrum on Oct. 19.

Next up for the Camels will be a trip to Gardner-Webb on Nov. 4, competing against the Bulldogs and UNC Asheville.
